Advances in cloud computing technology are revolutionizing the way that businesses run, across all industries. In fact, Gartner recently predicted that the public cloud services market is forecast to have grown by 19.6% in 2012 to a total $109 billion worldwide.

The cloud has the potential to become the preferred mechanism for software delivery, bringing more choices to organizations when selecting an application provider, and resulting in fewer reasons to maintain their own applications on-premise.

More and more organizations are seeking alternatives to on-premise deployments. As such, cloud adoption will increase dramatically; and when moving to the cloud, businesses will need more managers who are comfortable with this new environment.

Way back in the years 1999 to 2000, the Indian IT industry grew on one great phenomenon of fixing the challenging Y2K problem. Y2K was the catalyst for the growth of the Indian Industry supported by savvy marketing and cost positioning and mass training.

The challenge for businesses today is to migrate their legacy application to the cloud and also replace some of the legacy applications with newer and more agile solutions available on the cloud which support mobility.

Business need consulting for a cloud strategy and a migration plan, but more importantly they will need IT skills for Cloud Migration. Will Indian companies to do their jig in the cloud and relive their glory days ?
