About the Seminar

" The seminar aims at ensuring success of IT Implementation by narrowing the gap between the IT Specialists and the Functional Managers so that the two form a strong cohesive team "

This seminar provides both pre-sales and post-sales benefits to the ERP Implementer. It helps in lead generation for ERP Vendors. As a post-sales benefit, this seminar helps cut down the cost, time and stress of ERP Implementation.

The seminar aims at ensuring success of IT Implementation by narrowing the gap between the IT Specialists, the Functional Managers and CXOs so that they form a strong cohesive team. It is an ideal kick-off event for any ERP Implementation. Beginning an ERP implementation with this seminar ensures that the IT and functional teams work as a very well-knit team with perfect understanding of each others' role. It helps participants empathise with each-other.

The seminar is a result of a deep study of causes of IT failures and a close observation of people's behaviour under IT - Driven change.

The right involvement of the CEO and Department heads/Senior managers is the key to success of IT Implementation projects. Typically, most top managers do not get actively involved due to their innate fear of technology. They tend to delegate technology projects to their subordinates: "I just do not understand this technology. You do whatever you want to do and ensure that the project succeeds". It is unlikely to succeed with low senior level involvement. Equally common is a scenario where there is a very enthusiastic involvement of managers to begin with, soon to be turned into dismay and frustrations due to over expectations.

Either way, the project ends up in friction, allegations and counter allegations resulting in stress, delays and total failure of the project resulting in immense losses.

The seminar ensures better participation by managers by working on their subconscious fear of technology. It delivers just that what managers need to know not only to face IT Driven change but to be catalysts to change. The good news is that the managers need not know IT, they only need to know Behavioral IT™, which is much easier to learn. They need to know how people behave under the impact of technological change and how to manage their resistance to change.

This seminar also helps managers to set the right expectations from this technology. It addresses the common misconceptions, mindset and psychological issues. It is an eye opener for the managers to know that this technology, which we rave about and consider to be far superior to machines of machine-age, is in fact far inferior and far more demanding. This helps set right expectations and also to empathise with the IT professionals. It helps bring the two teams closer to form a solid team to face the perils of this difficult technology.

Why this Seminar?

Benefits for You

This seminar can provide both pre-sales and post-sales benefits to the ERP Implementer. This seminar can help in lead generation for ERP Vendors. Top managers are normally in a very relaxed mood when attending trainings and seminars and have all the time to discuss (which they never have otherwise). This seminar provides a good occasion for ERP Vendors for ice breaking and lead generation. It allows participants to discuss real process and automation issues within their company. This provides a very good opportunity for ERP companies to understand their prospect's problems and propose right solutions through ERP.

As a post-sales benefit, this seminar is an ideal kick-off event for any ERP Implementation. Beginning an ERP implementation with this seminar ensures that the IT and functional teams work as a very well-knit team with perfect understanding of each others' role. It helps participants empathise with each-other. The seminar ensures a strong bonding and understanding between all parties involved in implementation, i.e., top management, users, IT department, vendors, etc. This seminar thus helps in reducing the cost, time and stress of ERP implementation.

It improves your credibility for implementations by ensuring higher success rates due to better user involvement. Higher success rates ensure better resource utilization, better order books and better bottomlines.

The managers learn how to collaborate rather than confront. They learn to empathise with IT folks. CEOs learn to take a more balanced view and be more effective change managers. The transition to your automated systems is therefore less stressful.

Benefits for your Client Company

While it benefits your company, it benefits your client's company too. Businesses are incurring heavy losses on account of failed implementations - leave alone the opportunity cost and productivity loss due to friction and frustration among senior managers. The seminar helps save cost through faster and more effective automation.

Statistics place implementation failures to anything between 60% and 80%. The cost of ERP implementation is not the software cost alone, it includes hardware cost, training cost, cost of senior people's time and most important the consultant fees, which are very high. The cost of average ERP implementation for a medium to large enterprise with 100 to 250 users is about Rs. 25 million and the total cost of ownership around Rs. 45 million (Source: Aberdeen Group, August 2006). With cost of services having shot up, the cost will be higher.

With average 70% failure rate, the stakes are quite high for your client.

Benefits for Functional Managers

This training benefits managers personally - both in terms of their success in the company and their personal growth as professionals. Managers with IT awareness are in greater demand in the corporate world. There is already a great digital divide, Managers who are IT Aware and those who are not. The seminar will help them to be on the right side of the divide.

Managers will be able to better utilize technology without the frustrations and pains, which most managers go through. They will be able to interact with the IT folks more intelligently and thereby use technology more effectively to their own advantage.
